BON JOVI Q&A FUNCTION at this website is no longer up and running. The function first launched in 2002 around the release of Bounce allowed fans to submit questions for a revolving cast of staffers to answer over the past several years. Now, several years later, its time to shut down the function. Previous questions and answers are still available to you to read and learn about the band. Much of the information you seek is available through archived questions/answers and on other sections of this website. Moving foward, important information about the band (as always) will be posted in the NEWS section of this website. Thanks for your questions - it's been a great run!

If you've kept an eye on recent news items coming out of Boston, you'll notice alot of Jon Bon Jovi! On Monday, Jon headed up to Gillette Stadium for Patriots practice and to hang with the players and his close friend, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Then, this past Saturday, if you were watching the RedSox host the Yankees on FOX, you might have seen JBJ at Fenway. Jon headed to Boston to take in a game between the rival teams. He hung out with both teams in their lockerrooms, checked out the Green Monster, the field, the dugouts... great summer day to take in a ballgame. Jon's one-hour interview with Larry King finally aired on Wednesday night August 16th and then was repeated on SAturday, August 19th. We understand many fans around the world hoped the show would air in their territories but so far has not - we have no control over that. We wish we could help however, it is entirely up to CNN to determine what airs and when. The JBJ one-hour interview was bumped 3 times domestically so that the channel could focus on breaking news and Middle East coverage. Hopefully you'll be able to see the show in your parts. In the meantime, if you go to www.cnn.com and click on the link to Larry King Live, there have been clips from the show and a transcript. It's not the same but it's something! Finally, a note of advice -- if you do a google search for "news" on Jon Bon Jovi, there's a whole lot of fake "headlines" that come up. These are the fake news services that lift quotes from other legitimate interviews (be they radio, print, TV) and lift information for legitimate websites (like this one) and regurgitate the info as "news" items they pass on as entertainment news. Be careful what you believe -- they like to take stuff out of context and create false stories. They chose to lift lots of bits from the CNN show and now have fake stories up there. No, Jon is not giving up acting. That sort of nonsense. If you want REAL news, get it from a real source - this site -- not these fake hacks online!

Get a little bit of Soul!

From BonJovi.com:

JON BON JOVI - EXTRA - SIGNED SOUL JERSEYS ON EBAY FOR CHARITY
(Monday, August 14, 2006)
JON BON JOVI & "EXTRA" RECRUIT STARS FOR AUG. 14 EBAY AUCTION TO BENEFIT PROJECT H.O.M.E IN PHILADELPHIA

August 11, 2006 -- Jon Bon Jovi will place four autographed Philadelphia Soul Jerseys on eBay for auction on Monday, August 14 to raise money for Project H.O.M.E in Philadelphia. Three of the jerseys contain celebrity signatures from Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Uma Thurman, Luke Wilson, Rainn Wilson, Scarlett Johannsen, Tommy Lee, and "Extra's" Mark McGrath - all of which were gathered by the nationally syndicated entertainment newsmagazine show "Extra" throughout several days of superstar interviews.

Additionally, Bon Jovi has also gathered signatures which also appear on some of the jerseys. These include Michael Douglas, Diana Ross, Jessica Alba, Shannon Elizabeth, Sheryl Crow, Kanye West, Eva Longoria, Anna Nicole Smith, Kelly Osbourne, Jenny McCarthy, Slash, Clay Aiken, Kix Brooks, among others.

“Extra" recently took Jon Bon Jovi's philanthropic endeavors to heart. The rock star, who has a track record of charitable involvement, asked the show's on-air personalities to autograph a handful of Philadelphia Soul Arena Football Jerseys (Mr. Bon Jovi is co-owner of the team) and was thrilled when the show took it one step further. By bringing the jerseys with them as they interviewed some of the world's biggest stars, they collected autographs along the way. When "Extra's" New York correspondent, Tanika Ray, interviewed Jon Bon Jovi at one of the bands three sold-out homecoming shows at Giants Stadium which closed out the band's "Have a Nice Day" World Tour, she surprised the star with the good deed that her show had done. The three jerseys, along with a fourth autographed jersey that the band brought to the 2004 American Music Awards, will now be auctioned on eBay in order to raise money for Project H.O.M.E. in Philadelphia.

"My mission with the Philadelphia Soul has been to use the team as a means to help local charities and causes in the community," says Jon Bon Jovi. "'Extra' took up the challenge. My sincere gratitude to Extra and to all the celebrities who were generous with their time and added their signatures to help me raise money for the incredible work that Project H.O.M.E. does."

Mr. Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul franchise launched in 2004 with a commitment to become more than a sports franchise. Their involvement with local charities within the Philadelphia community remains strong. Each season the Soul identify local causes with whom they partner. The Soul donate money and time to the worthy charities and also help raise the awareness of the cause among their fans and the local Philadelphia market.

This year, Jon Bon Jovi and the Philadelphia Soul have partnered with Project H.O.M.E. - a nonprofit founded by Sister Mary Scullion and Joan Dawson McConnon in 1989. The organization provides a full range of services for chronically homeless people with mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders, including street outreach, safe havens, permanent supportive housing and a range of services to supplement housing. This continuum is an important part of Project H.O.M.E.'s success: each person is recognized as an individual with unique needs. Services at each facility are different; some residents are not ready to accept regimented drug or alcohol treatment, while others may be able to live almost independently. Largely responsible for drastically reducing the issue of homelessness in the city of Philadelphia, Project H.O.M.E. is recognized nationally as a model program that other organizations addressing the issue of homelessness strive to emulate in helping solve the problems they face in their own cities.

BON JOVI - HERE & THERE & WHATNOT

From BonJovi.com:

BON JOVI - HERE & THERE & WHATNOT
(Thursday, August 10, 2006)
Now that the HAVE A NICE DAY tour is winding down, we thought we'd take this time to leave you with a cornucopia of information, odds & ends of info and answers to some questions that we've been alerted have come up via the message boards and the Q&A function (limited as its lifespan looks to be.)

BON JOVI ended their HAVE A NICE DAY tour on Saturday, July 29th at Giants Stadium in New Jersey. This is the last date of the tour and it marks the end of the entire HAVE A NICE DAY album/tour cycle. No more singles. No more videos. No more concerts. No more promotional activity (radio, TV, print.)

BON JOVI had a massive banner with the smirk and WHO SAYS YOU CAN'T GO HOME on it, hanging from the side of GIANTS STADIUM during their stand there. If you go to the news item with the note from the band, you can see the band with the banner. Now that the shows and the tours are over, the banner has come down. The stadium made the banner in honor of the band's shows there; the stadium stores it. And we'd like to see that storage locker. The banner itself measured 50’ x 180’. The installation process took about five to six hours to complete. The banner actually consisted of two 50’ x 90’ panels. One boom truck raised the banner panel-by-panel. Once raised, the panels were clipped off to a cable on top of the stadium. The two panels were then bolted together to create the overall banner. The final step was to tie the banner off at the bottom and to pull it tight on either side with ratchet straps affixed to the building. The banner was made of mesh and was reinforced with webbing (similar to the material used to make seat belts) on all four sides of each panel to protect it against high wind loads. The band members, their staff and the team who helped make the Giants Stadium show happen were presented with miniature versions of the banner (12" x 30") framed as a commemorative gift. The band members received theirs from the Giants Stadium folks on July 27th, when they were on site to do a group photo in the parking lot in front of the banner.

For the month of August, the band is enjoying some well-deserved vacation time. They're laying low, enjoying time with their families and friends. They might surface here or there but for the most part, it's vacation time. All that changes at the start of September. BON JOVI will be part FASHION ROCKS on September 7th. They will be part of a multi-artist bill and will perform one song on the program.

Speaking of programs, if you're jonesing for a fix of Bon Jovi, there are some TV appearances coming up:
TONIGHT, AUGUST 10TH at 8:00PM ET, CMT will reair the fan favorite, CROSSROADS featuring BON JOVI and SUGARLAND. Check your local listings and for more info, visit www.cnn.com

TUESDAY, AUGUST 15TH at 9:00PM ET, CNN's LARRY KING LIVE is planning to (finally) air the twice-postponed one-hour JON BON JOVI interview. Given its a 24-hour news channel, they will revert to breaking news as it happens - hopefully, there will be enough calm in the world to allow them to keep to the plan of airing the interview, which is a great hour with Jon. Check your local listings and for more info, visit www.cnn.com

AUGUST 22nd is the airdate for JC PENNEY JAM CONCERT FOR AMERICA'S KIDS. JON BON JOVI (along with Bobby Bandiera, Jeff Kazee and Lorenza Ponce) pre-taped a performance of WHO SAYS YOU CAN'T GO HOME back in NYC on May 4th. A live event taped in LA in June is the anchor for this program. For more information, please visit http://music.aol.com/jcpenney-jam-event

Check out EXTRA tomorrow night (August 11th) -- there's going to be a brief piece about Jon Bon Jovi, The Philadelphia Soul, celebrity autographed football jerseys and raising money for charity. Then, check back here next week and we'll share how you can bid on these items. More info next week...

BON JOVI invited some environmentally friendly organizations to their July shows with a goal towards education. If you were at the shows, you likely saw the movie trailer for AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH which was screened between acts on the big screens. The partner site for the movie is www.climatecrisis.net and also shown on screen was the information for www.stopglobalwarming.org Finally, at most of the shows, volunteers from Rock The Earth (www.rocktheearth.org) and Native Energy (www.nativeenergy.com) were on hand distributing information. IF you're interested in learning more, please feel free to visit any of these organizations websites.

Now that the tour has ended, all the merchandise that was out on the road made its way back to the LA warehouses. It's being inventoried and then prepared to be added to the items available at www.bonjovionline.com -- so stay tuned, within a few weeks lots of items that were available on the road will make their way to the Official Bon Jovi Online Store.

What does the future hold? A whole lot of good stuff. But there is NO information that is definitive and confirmed and worthy of writing in blood, or engraving into stone or even breaking out the Sharpie to mark down on your calendar. Jon has discussed a few projects on the horizon -- talk of going to Nashville to write with Nashville based songwriters and work with country artists... a second greatest hits album... a new studio album... new movies... This is all the talk of a man and a band very excited about the great things on the horizon. But please keep in mind, everything will unfold on its own timeline and you'll need to wait for the band to share real information with you when its confirmed. If you continue to check back with www.bonjovi.com, as official, legitimate and authentic news and information is confirmed and ready to be shared, it will be! If you want it to be real, it will come from the band.

For now, we suggest a beach, a hammock, some flipflops, a margarita and a cowboy hat tipped to block out the sun. Enjoy your summer.
