BON JOVI CONCERT WEBCAST WINS EMMA AWARD
Source: BonJovi.com | December 3, 2002

LONDON, 2 DECEMBER 2002 -- The groundbreaking web / cinecast of Bon Jovi's London Shepherd's Bush Empire concert on 18th September 2002 has won a 2002 International Electronic Multimedia Award (EMMA) in the Entertainment - Music Category.

In addition to the few thousand lucky ticket holders who were at Bon Jovi's special album preview concert, more than fifteen thousand people at cinemas across Europe enjoyed the concert on the big screen via satellite, and were joined by more than a million fans online around the world who viewed a live or archived stream.

The International EMMAs recognise excellence in digital media content creation through the acknowledgement of best practice and ongoing educational programmes. Celebrating their 11th anniversary this year, this European-based international awards programme attracts entries from over 40 countries and has the widest reach of any digital awards event worldwide.

The Executive Board of the EMMA foundation noted that the webcast was: "A laudable notion that receives major kudos for its innovation, carving the channels for new possibilities in live entertainment. A great starter example of multimedia in service of music production."

Ollie Buckwell, Head of New Media at Universal Music International said: "With this event, Bon Jovi were able to play their first intimate, 2,000 capacity show in many years and yet reach a further 15,000 people at venues and cinemas across Europe and more than a million on the internet. We've been staggered by the positive feedback from fans around the world, and acknowledgement from the EMMAs has capped a great event for everyone concerned."

Bon Jovi & the Super Bowl!
If our ears are working right, we could swear Jon said to Jay Leno that they will be starting with the Super Bowl in America! FYI to fans in the San Diego area: 1iota Productions is doing the casting for the Super Bowl Halftime Show & sign-ups for the event are scheduled to begin on January 1, 2003. (1iota was the company that cast the NFL/Times Square event a few months back).
