SPRINT TO SPONSOR BON JOVI “HAVE A NICE DAY”
SPRINT TO SPONSOR BON JOVI “HAVE A NICE DAY” NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Sept. 30, 2005 - Sprint (NYSE: S) today announced its title sponsorship of Bon Jovi’s upcoming North American tour on the heels of Bon Jovi’s biggest release week ever as the album “Have a Nice Day” entered at the top of the music charts around the world. Sprint’s sponsorship of the “Have a Nice Day” tour – which kicks off Nov. 2 – allows the company to provide unique wireless content to its customers and further positions Sprint as a communications and entertainment company.
“Sprint’s partnership with Bon Jovi is a first-of-its-kind relationship that gives fans more ways to see, hear and experience their favorite band,” said Laurie Thompson, director of entertainment marketing for Sprint. “It’s all about delivering the music fans love directly to their Sprint phone.”
Thompson says this relationship between Sprint and Bon Jovi goes beyond the traditional corporate sponsorship in that it will resonate with both Bon Jovi fans and Sprint music customers alike. “Sprint will provide unique and exclusive wireless content to the band’s legions of loyal fans, while the band’s mass appeal will allow Sprint to reach potential new wireless music customers.”
Paul Korzilius, Bon Jovi’s manager, sees the partnership as the perfect progression of the band’s interaction with their fans. “The relationship with Sprint puts our music in the palm of fans’ hands. When Bon Jovi first started touring, we would see fan support with lighters glowing in the crowd. Today, we see the blue glow of mobile phone screens. It’s great to know that it’s our music on those phones.”

Sprint plans to provide Bon Jovi’s fans across the country with VIP access through exclusive wireless content and interactive experiences. Sprint customers will continue to enjoy music-related products and can look forward to services that may include exclusive unreleased Bon Jovi songs, songs from the “Have a Nice Day” album, streaming music, a new band screen saver, ringers, ringbacks and more.
Bon Jovi’s first video from the title track of their new album features fans using Sprint PCS Picture MailSM phones to capture and share the album’s “smirk” logo with friends. The video is also expected to appear in a new Sprint commercial, set to air later this fall. Further, Sprint plans to provide wireless phones and a fully loaded communications tour bus for the group as the band hits the road in support of their ninth studio album.
A portion of the tour goes on sale Sat., Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. to the general public. For additional tour dates and information, visit www.bonjovi.com. Detailed terms of the Sprint and Bon Jovi sponsorship arrangement were not disclosed.
