Giants Stadium 8/7 Review
Giants Stadium : August 7, 2003 : Review/Highlights by Lisa M.
First and foremost, it was great to see familiar faces. It isn't often that you find so many friendly people in one spot and everyone was having such a great time!
Tonight was fantastic! I'm finally home, in dry clothes (woooo hoooo!!!). Thank God there was no lightening. The rain really wasn't too bad. At times it was heavy, but no one really seemed to care until after the show when they realized their clothes were drenched and gals in heels were having a hard time walking out to the parking area.
The stage setup was different than the last GIANTS shows. Instead of a stage that was one big curve, it was curved in the center and straight out to the sides which made it perfect!!! The previous design blocked views a bit for people in the first few rows. It also seemed that the barricade was farther from the stage, so the sight lines were just right this go-round.
The show itself was full of nice surprises... "I'd Die for You", "Raise Your Hands" were my personal faves that I hadn't heard in awhile at the live shows I've been to (this tour has a been a little lean in the cash dept. so I haven't been to a ton of shows).
"Bed of Roses" was extra special tonight as the girl that danced with Jon was proposed to by her boyfriend after Jon danced with her. (JBJ called her back out from the fanpit and sat with her on a riser before her man surprised her... it was priceless!!!) The happy couple stayed on stage to finish the song.
Band energy - high
Band clothes - wet
Audience energy - high
Audience clothes, bags, purses, cameras, hair, etc. - drenched
Hugh's glasses - foggy man!
Question: How the heck do the guys play guitar with wet strings and pruning fingers from all that rain??? Damn, that was cool! You'd think they'd be slippin' and sliding all over the freakin' frets.
I'm tired, it's late and there's one more show to go tom'w. Forecast - big shocker - more rain in NJ! LOL Ah well! This time, I think I'll invest in a poncho... my rain jacket didn't do much for me. I guess "all weather" doesn't necessarily mean "resistant to downpours" LOL
