World Welcomes Newest Bon Jovi

Following a performance in New Orleans for MTV, Jon Bon Jovi and band members were enjoying the city in the early hours of May 7 when the lead singer received a call that his wife, Dorothea, was in labor with their third child.

The band immediately loaded onto a private plane and flew back to New Jersey, said Lauren Schneider, his publicist.

State police greeted the excited father at the airport and transported Bon Jovi to the hospital just in time for the birth of 9-pound 4-ounce Jacob Hurley Bon Jovi.

Schneider would not say in what hospital the boy was born.

Jacob Hurley is the Middletown couple's third child following Stephanie Rose, 9, and 7-year-old Jesse James. Hurley is Mrs. Bon Jovi's maiden name.
